A few loggings from Mount Evelyn over the past week.

5830 USA. WTWW - Lebanon TN. Live preaching from a room with an echo at 0635. Early reception for March, I am more likely to see this type of reception in mid-winter. Weak signal, Mar 17.

⭐⭐ 5915 ZAMBIA. ZNBC - Lusaka. As reported by guest contributor, Ron Howard in our last DX Quick Tips, the Radio 1 service was also noted here at Mount Evelyn with a discussion program inc. telephone talk-back at 1940. A quick NBC ID between speakers at 1945. Later noted at 2030 with African songs. This is back on air after a spell away. Initially, the signal here was only fair on this clear channel, but improved significantly by 2115. Eventual s/off at 2200 after ID and national anthem. Mar 24. YouTube video below:

5925 FRANCE. RFI - Issoudun. French news to WAf at 0630. Very good signal, Mar 17.

⭐⭐ 6070 GERMANY. Channel 292 - Rohrbach. Although no ID was noted in more than 40 min of monitoring, I believe this was 292 here putting in a respectably fair signal for its 25 kW from 2035 to its eventual f/out at 2120. Continuous rock/pops and no anncts. Here at Mount Evelyn, I don’t often log 292 so this is surprising reception on Mar 24.

6105 FRANCE. R. Algerienne - Issoudun. Qur’an chants and occasional Arabic anncts at 0615. An interview at 0623, very good signal, Mar 17.

6135 ENGLAND. BBC - Woofferton. French to NWAf at 0610 with news commentary. Signed off at 0629. Not often heard here at this time, and a weak signal via the long path, Mar 17.

⭐⭐ 7265 FRANCE. Koode R. Int’l - Issoudun. S/on 1900 in Fulfulde to WAf. Short Afro flute interval signal then ID annct. Largely talk/commentary programming. 1921 - Clear ID as “Koode Radio International” and mentions of Nigeria. Sudden cut off mid-sentence, the usual Issoudun guillotine method of ending so many of these transmissions. Fair signal March 27.

9510 SRI LANKA. AWR - Trincomalee. Thai service to SEAs at 0010 with what appeared to be religious story-telling, and a song at 0014. A weak signal on Mar 23.

9690 SPAIN. REE - Noblejas. Portuguese to NAm at 0020 to 0030, then into Spanish. A weak and wobbly signal here, but probably at good strength into the target area of ENAm Currently scheduled for Tues-Sat operation (UTC time!). Mar 23.

9865 INDIA. AIR - Bengaluru. The Vividh Bharati service in Hindi at 0035 with music programming. Fair signal, Mar 23.

11745 SAUDI ARABIA. Al-Azm R. - Jeddah. Lively Arabic songs at 0935 for troops near the Yemeni border, weak signal, Mar 21.

15270 TAIWAN. R. Taiwan Int’l - Paochung. Cantonese to SEAs at 1020, a fair signal but heavy co-channel jamming from CNR2, Mar 21.

15450 GUAM. KSDA-AWR - Agat. Mandarin to EAs at 1015 with preaching, a weak signal on Mar 21.

15480 TURKEY. VoT - Emirler. Turkish to the ME at 1010 with commentary. A fair to poor signal, Mar 21.

15580 PHILIPPINES. FEBC - Bocaue. In Sundanese to Indonesia at 1000 with ID and contact details. Then music with a brief 7-second break in transmission at 1004. Good signal on Mar 21.
