VTVN RADIO VIETNAM
From 1973
I am trying to rescue some of my early DX recordings from the 1970s. Some tapes are deteriorating rather badly, so I am digitising the audio before I lose them forever!
This is an archival recording of the opening of the Khmer service of VTVN Radio Vietnam, South Vietnam (known at the time as the Republic of Vietnam), recorded in February 1973. This recording features the old interval signal used in the 1960s and early 1970s, plus the Republic's national anthem, and opening station announcements. You can also see my VTVN QSL card and the envelope it came in. From memory, I may have been using a Lafayette HA230 receiver into a dipole antenna.
73 and good DX to you all,
