NEW SCHEDULE - MADAGASCAR WORLD VOICE

NEW SCHEDULE
MADAGASCAR WORLD VOICE

From March 30, 2025

Madagascar World Voice (MWV) is owned and operated by World Christian Broadcasting (WCB), a non-profit Christian organization based in the United States. MWV is one of WCB’s two major shortwave transmission sites, with the other being KNLS, located in Alaska.

The Madagascar site was established to provide better coverage for Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and parts of Asia, complementing KNLS, which primarily serves Asia and the Pacific.

NOTE! The schedule below is drawn from the frequencies registered with the HFCC. Be mindful that changes to these registrations can occur at any time. Use them as a guide on where to look for their broadcasts from March 30.

MWV assigns different station names to its broadcasts in various languages because each program is tailored to a specific audience with unique cultural, religious, and linguistic preferences.

For example, "Radio Feda" (Arabic) sounds familiar and appealing to Arabic speakers. “La Voz Alegre” (Spanish) means “The Joyful Voice,” which suits a Christian broadcast aimed at Latin America. “Light of Life” (Chinese) conveys a message of hope and aligns with Christian teachings in a way that appeals to Chinese-speaking listeners.

“New Life Station” (English) and “African Pathways” (English for Africa) have been in use for many years under different WCB transmissions. When MWV was launched in Madagascar, these established names were retained for consistency among listeners.

The MWV transmitter site is located about 12 km east of Mahajanga, a city on the northwest coast of Madagascar. You can sneak an aerial view by copying and pasting the following geomagnetic coordinates into Google Maps.
