The SWBC Future

Sorry to hear news of the imminent closure of BBC-Cyprus. It made a useful contribution to relaying transmissions around the globe over many decades

However, apparently not all bad news! According to this Radio World article, AWR is INCREASING their shortwave time in 2013.

Finally, I have often wondered what would happen if a world war broke out again. Could Internet services be potentially interrupted causing global havoc in communications of ANY sort? Would our 1st and 2nd world countries begin scrambling back to shortwave radio....or is there something else technological waiting in the wings?
