FREE! 1960s INTERVAL SIGNAL & ID COLLECTION RECORDING - NOW DIGITISED My thanks to Dmitry Mezin from the WRTH Facebook group for alerting me to the fascinating collection of interval signals and station identifications used during the early to mid-1960s by shortwave broadcasters of the era. I was not aware that this resource was available again, assuming that it had been lost forever.  Originally released by the publishers of the World Radio TV Handbook, the collection has been digitised and is available to download and enjoy by all radio enthusiasts. The On the Shortwaves.Com website received permission from WRTH to post this interesting historical resource. From their website........ "In addition to the annual World Radio TV Handbook and Summer Supplements, World Publications (Hellerup, Denmark) produced other books and materials of interest to the radio listener. In the 1965-66 How to Listen to the World (p. 159), 1966 WRTH (p. 66) and 1966 WRTH S...

Radio Đáp Lời Sông Núi Clandestine Shortwave Broadcaster February 18, 2019 Here is a recording I made last night between 1256 and sign off at 1259 UTC of Radio Đáp Lời Sông Núi, the Vietnam Democracy Radio station based in San Jose, CA, USA. Although it has been in existence for a number of years, mainly on mediumwave, the station was reported on 11850 kHz last year and has been on 9670 kHz during the B18 season (according to Mauno Ritola). It manages to put in a fairly strong signal to Mount Evelyn. The ever-present siren jamming, presumedly from the Vietnamese Communist Government, is also heard quite well....unfortunately! The Radio Đáp Lời Sông Núi broadcast is believed to be coming from the transmitter site at Paochung, Taiwan. The station has a web presence: Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/radiodlsn/ Website:   http://radiodlsn.com/ Let me know if you can hear this station at your listening location! ...

DX QUICK TIPS AND A SPECIAL QSL CARD February 18, 2019 SUNDAY ONLY SERVICES Some shortwave broadcasters run different schedules on the weekends. A few go off the air while others have a different Saturday and/or Sunday only schedule. This past weekend, I took a look at a few of the Sunday-only broadcasts that could be heard here at Mount Evelyn. This is by-no-means a complete list, but rather just a quick Sunday scan of the bands. If you haven't heard some of these before, well then.....you'll have to wait until NEXT Sunday!  😊😊 NOTE :  The symbol // means the station is running parallel (additional) frequencies for that broadcast. 7250   VATICAN. Vatican R. - SM Galeria. Romanian at 0820 (Sun only), fair signal until s/off 0925. Also // 9645 with a fair signal but heavy co-channel QRM there from VoKorea-Kujang, Feb 17. 7570   USA.
