From the Logbook....
4820 INDIA. AIR - Kolkata. At about equal strength to the channel-sharing PBS Xizang at 1310 with softly spoken Hindi talks and occasional brief music interludes.
7295 MALAYSIA. RTVMalaysia - Kajang. This is usually a tough one for me to hear due to the two powerful and rather noisy China outlets on 7290. However, I dug it out of the mush at 1115. This is the Traxx FM Service in English with pop songs and announcements. At 1129 there was a time check as "29 minutes past 7". Malaysian and world news at 1200. Pleased to log this one.
15105 BANGLADESH. Bangladesh Betar - Dhaka. English service s/on 1230 with the news and a big fat hum on the audio. Otherwise a fair signal and only slight QRM from China 15110. At 1245, the audio (and hum) completely disappeared for a minute while the carrier remained. Hum still present when audio returned. Intermittent audio for the remainder of the broadcast, s/off 1300.
15745. SRI LANKA. Ekala txer site. Presumed to be this at 0445 for the extended Sunday service in English. Very weak in the noise and at one point disappeared all together before eventually returning. I think Sundays are probably our best chance to hear this with the later s/off.
17830 PAKISTAN. R. Pakistan - Islamabad. Urdu service s/on at 0500, fair signal cutting through the noise with local popular songs.
17870 EGYPT. R. Cairo - Abu Zaabal. A carrier of fair strength but with an abysmally weak audio level at 1232 for the English service to SE Asia. What's the point?
