From the Logbook....

Here are some notes on stations noted over the past week including Brazilian signals in both our mornings and afternoons, and some early fade in of stations as we approach the southern hemisphere winter DX season. Hope you find something of interest:

4755.5  MICRONESIA.  PMA The Cross Radio - Pohnpei. Preaching and hymns at 0735 f/in in our afternoon, the earliest I've heard them so far this year. Apr 24.

4925   KOREA REP.  MND Radio - Chuncheon. S/on 0954 with a song, into anncts 0958 and long talks. Noted with a fair signal while waiting in hope for a glimpse of Brazil on 4925.2…….Also noted the Brazilian het start up at 0959 at their scheduled s/on but no audio from them on this evening. Apr 23.

5039.2  PERU.  R. Libertad - Junin. First noted weakly at 0945 with songs and occasional anncts. Remained weak and variable for the rest of the evening. Apr 23.

6180   BRAZIL.  R. Nac. Amazonia - Brasilia. Also noted at 2050 with Portuguese talks. Apr 24.

7350   ROMANIA. RRI - Tiganesti. As at Apr 22, this is currently the first station to f/in during our early afternoon (1.15pm) at 0315 with the English service to NAm, also NF ex 7305.

7475   GREECE.  VoG - Avlis. The second station to f/in at 0325 as we approach the Australian winter afternoon reception conditions. Quickly becomes a strong signal throughout the afternoon. Apr 22.

9565   BRAZIL.  Super R. Deus e Amor - Curitiba. Religious talks at 0635, // 11765 but at a weak level. Apr 21. And noted again at 2100, still preaching and a poor signal. Apr 24.

9664.9   BRAZIL.  R. Voz Missionaria - Camboriu. Ballads (hymn?) leading up to ID and anncts at 0659, into more ballads from 0602. Fair to poor at times. Apr 21.

9800   CHINA. CNR1 National Emergency Channel - Shijiazhuang. Earthquake reports Apr 24 at 2200+. Also // 9810 (the stronger signal here) and 6065. Apr 25.

9819.22   BRAZIL.  R. Nove de Julho - Sao Paulo. Long talks around 0645. Fair strength on Apr 21.

11510   MOLDOVA.  Denge Kurdistani -Kishinev. 0750 with mournful songs, time pips 0800, ID and news talk. Not a strong signal and best heard on the 80mx antenna! Gone by 0900. Apr 23.

11765   BRAZIL. Super R. Deus e Amor - Curitiba. Portuguese religious talks and occasional songs at 0605, signal was weak but in the clear. Returned at 0710 to find a very respectable signal strength, Apr 21. And again at 2045 under Algeria (via Issoudun), and later under VOIRI's Japanese service at 2130. Appears to be slightly off-freq as there is a low level het here. Runs // 9565, Apr 24.

11780   BRAZIL.  R. Nac da Amazonia - Brasilia. Fabulous samba-style dance music and songs at 0615, lovely signal on Apr 21. Noted again weakly on Apr 24 at 2115 with music and talk, poor signal at first but strengthened around 2130.

11815   BRAZIL.  R. Brasil Central - Goiania. Lively songs and short anncts at 0625, ID 0631; fair level on Apr 21.

12000   CHINA. CNR1 National Emergency Channel - Shijiazhuang. Earthquake reports and passing of traffic first noted at 2245, very strong signal, Apr 24.
