Listen to Live Radio!
Loggings of 17 different countries this week - including Chad, Brazil, Belarus, Argentina, Israel and Nigeria!
5860 KUWAIT. R. Farda - Kuwait. Farsi pop songs at 2144, strong signal Sept 30.
5915 ZAMBIA. NBC Radio 1 - Lusaka. Great Afro dance music at 2138 mixed with some listener phone-in chat, very good level on Sept 30.
5965 COSTA RICA. REE - Caiari de Pococí. Weak at f/in around 0448 with Spanish commentary, Oct 1.
6030 USA. R. Marti - Greenville NC. Spanish to the Caribbean at 0443, just starting to fade in at this time these days, Oct 1.
6115 PHILIPPINES. R. Veritas Asia - Palauig. Mandarin service 2124 with preaching and the occasional Chinese hymn. Very weak but in the clear, faded by 2145 on Sept 30.
6125 CUBA. R. Havana. English to NAm 0505, very weak at this time but gets stronger by 0615, Oct 1.
6155 AUSTRIA. ORF - Moosbrunn. S/on 0500 in German to Eu with ID and news program. I haven't heard this one since mid-winter, Oct 1.

6165 CHAD. R. Nat. Tchadienne - N'Djamena. Always a reliable signal in our mornings in French with lovely local African music, noted on Sept 30 at 2115. Oh how I miss the multitude of Afro broadcasters that used to serenade me on 60 mb early in the mornings - now long gone.
6175 USA. VoV - Cypress Creek SC, Vietnamese service NAm with music at 0455, into discussion 0458, ID 0500. Weak but readable on Oct 1.
6180 BRAZIL. R. Nacional Amazonia - Brasilia. News at 2109, commentary at 2112. Fair signal and quickly improved within 10 min, Sept 30.
9690 NIGERIA. VoNigeria - Abuja. Hausa service to WAf noted from 2015 with talks and Nigerian music, difficult listening due to QRM REE's French service on 9685 till 2058. ID noted 2059, then it was flattened by VOA-Pinheira's French service co-channel. Oct 1.
11930 BELARUS. Belaruskaje Radyjo - Minsk. Relay of Domestic Service 1 with pop songs at 0515 in Belarussian, ID 0518 then commentary, Oct 1.
13630 UZBEKISTAN. CVC International - Tashkent. Hindi service to SAs at 0415, with talkback program and occasional music items. Weak level on Oct 1.
13670 USA. VOA - Greenville. Strong signal for the weekdays-only service in Bambara to WAf at 2148. Telephone interview then a brief news roundup at 2150. Some music by those wonderful Malian musicians at 2155, then s/off with ID at 2200. Bambara is an interesting language. Spoken mainly by nearly 4 million people of Mali (indeed, 80% of the population speak it as a first or second language), but it can also be found in parts of Burkino Faso and Senegal. Listening to this VOA broadcast, you can hear this two-tone African language sprinkled with many French words that have slowly embedded themselves into the local vocabulary.
13720 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Sudan R. Service - Dhabayya. A great selection of Dafuri songs at 0431, a weak signal but in the clear so easily copied in Arabic, Oct 1.
13760 DPRK. VoKorea - Kujang. Spanish service opening 2100 with usual massed choir and Spanish news. Not a strong signal on Sept 30.
15345.24 ARGENTINA. R. Argentina Exterior - General Pacheco. A weak and variable signal at 2225 with Spanish programming and occasional songs. Sept 30. The freq still seems to vary quite a bit for this station.
15470. NTH MARIANAS. Vatican R. - Tinian. Chinese to FE noted 2215 with prayers, good level Sept 30.
17715 CUBA. R. Havana. Arabic service to Eu at 2035, at good strength. This band is not used much by broadcasters at this time, and the only other station audible here was R. Kuwait 17550. Cuba was, by far, the strongest on Sept 30.
Have a great weekend everyone,

6885 ISRAEL. Galei Zahai - Lod. Annct string leading up to an ID in Hebrew at 2100, straight into news headlines. Quite a respectable signal for the listed 10 kW. Nothing heard on 15850 as the 19mb is barely open at that time and 10 kW isn't going to cut through. Sept 30.
