The B13 transmission period has kicked off with many changes across the shortwave radio spectrum. The High Frequency Co-ordination Conference (HFCC) released a tentative B13 schedule about a week before this week's changeover, and I did some study on the implications that may arise once the changes were brought into operation. It seems that most of the frequency schedules were enacted OK, although there were a few frequencies that got listed but didn't seem to get used.
Of course, not all broadcasters subscribe to the HFCC, and those stations just do whatever they please when picking frequencies and times for their transmissions. So, it's always interesting to see what happens when the new transmission season begins.
As at Friday November 1 (four days since the new period began), I have personally noted some 118 frequency changes across the shortwave spectrum. But I know that there are many more new frequency listings that I haven't spotted as yet. The list is way too long to present here in one blog post. So, I have broken it up into three parts, and will post these during the course of this weekend. You can access the other parts by clicking on the links below:

5950 NEW ZEALAND. RNZI - Rangitaiki. S/on 1300 with news, NF ex 6170 to Pacific, scheduled through to s/off 1700, Oct 28.
5955 AUSTRIA. VoV - Moosbrunn. English to UK at 1816, into Vietnamese 1830, NF ex 9625 and one hour later for B13, fair on Oct 29.
5980 TURKEY. VoT - Emirler. Turkish to Eu 1855, NF ex 9460, fair strength Oct 30.
6100 CHINA. CRI - Beijing. Russian to EEu 1902, NF ex 9525, good signal Oct 30.
6100 GERMANY. AWR - Nauen. This is a mess for their Bulgarian service heard at 1620, NF ex 9830. But QRM KCBS-Kanggye and CRI's English to Afghanistan both co-channel, Oct 31.
6120 TURKEY. VoT - Emirler. Turkish to NAf and ME at 1905, NF ex 5960. Runs // 5980 but much stronger here due to a more advantageous beam heading for Australia. Oct 30.
6135 ENGLAND. VoVietnam - Woofferton. Russian at 2017 to Eu, NF ex 9890, massive signal Oct 30.
6140 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. BBC - Dhabayya. Somali at 1812, NF ex 6005 but perhaps not a great choice. Severe QRM from co-channel Iran till that s/off 1820, then BBC has fair signal till it's own s/off 1830, Oct 30.
6155 CHINA. CRI - Beijing. Russian 2024, NF ex 9525, fair Oct 30.
6175 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. VoVietnam Dhabayya. German service to Eu at 2038, NF ex 9430 and now one hour later. Strong signal with only light QRM CNR 1 co-channel, Oct 30.
6180 SOUTH AFRICA. RFI - Meyerton. 30 min Portuguese service to WAf and CAf at 1900. Good signal and NF ex 5950 - which now leaves Voice of Tigray Revolution clear on that freq! Oct 30.
6190 USA. KNLS - Anchor Pt. Surprised to hear this at 1637 in Russian under BBC-Meyerton with hymns and preaching. NF ex 9655 to Eastern Russia. Weak signal and no sign of China either! Oct 29.
6195 GERMANY. AWR - Nauen. Tachelhit service to NAf 1956, into French 2000, NF ex 9610, fair with QRM BBC 6190, Oct 30.

7300 CHINA. CRI - Kashi. Arabic service 1610, NF to NAf and ME. QRM Kajang 7295, Oct 29.
7310 ROMANIA. RRI - Tiganesti. English to ENAm 2140, NF (I think this is ex 11745 but not sure….), weak signal and gone by 2155, Oct 28.
