5066.33   CONGO, DR.  R. Télé Candip - Bunia. Another rare sighting of this one at 1845 (last time heard was Jan 21 this year) in French with alternating male and female speakers expressing strong views on ……something! Then several lively Afro pop songs from 1858. Extremely weak signal, fading in and out, hard work digging it out. Finally lost reception around 1905, May 27. 5915   PHILIPPINES.  VOA - Tinang. Korean to EAs at 1920 with ID, flattening poor old co-channel Zambia. NF ex 5900 and good signal on May 8.

5925   BULGARIA.  KBS World R. - Kostinbrod. German service now here at 1935, NF ex 5885, fair signal May 27.


 5939.83   BRAZIL. Voz Missionária - Camboriú. Now that R. Rossii has gone, the Brazilian can be heard past 0900. Noted on May 28 at 1010 with dual announcers in a discussion program before fading out around 1025.

5985   FRANCE.  R. Taiwan Int'l - Issoudun. English service at 1810, weak signal on this NF, May 27.

6009.9   UNIDENTIFIED. Latin station, weak signal, lively music and chat at 1005, faded by 1045, May 28. Could be Inconfidência or Conciencia. Both stations tend to wonder across the radio spectrum, and can be of equal strength on most occasions, usually weak. So I usually don't know what the heck I'm listening to!! Last year, after much monitoring, I could only pick out Conciencia with any certainty.

6020   VIETNAM. VoV - Buon Ma Thuot, Dac Lac. The VoV network 4 programming for minorities with charming Asian flute music at 1045 and anncts in local languages. Weak signal and flattened by China's own Voice of Minorities, a.k.a Ethnic Minority Radio at s/on 1057 in Korean on May 28. China also runs // 5975 which is also a good signal.

9560   CHINA.  CRI - Baoji-Xinjie.  Russian service to CAs at 1830, weak signal on this NF ex 9470, May 27.

9810   BOTSWANA. VOA - Moepeng Hill. French to Af at 1912, NF ex 9815 and fair to poor on May 27. This service only operates weekdays.

11600   SINGAPORE. BBC - Kranji. Special WS programming to Thailand at s/on 0100. Weak and fluttery signal with multi-hop echo on May 28.

11700   SINGAPORE. BBC - Kranji. Special WS programming to Thailand with "Newsday", first noted at 0710, ID at 0720.  Fair signal but QRM from co-channel RFI-Issoudun in French to WAf. This problem is solved when RFI s/off at 0800, May 27. 

11955   AUSTRIA. AWR - Moosbrunn. Arabic service to NAf at 1820 with ID, NF ex 12055 with a good signal. Not sure why they changed because 12055 was also a good signal here. May 28.

13625   THAILAND. BBC - Nakhon Sawan. WS s/on 0000 to EAs, NF and scheduled here on Tues and Wed only. Fair level with some multi-path echo on May 28.

15180   THAILAND. BBC - Nakhon Sawan. English WS s/on 2357 with "The Bells" then news at 0000, NF and scheduled here Wed and Sat only. Fair reception on May 27.


41 MB Wakes Up for Winter: 0300 s/on or f/in - May 29.

Finally, a few days ago, I monitored some signals on the 41mb from 0250 UTC. This is 12:50pm in the afternoon! So....I guess winter is on the way for southeastern Australia. It certainly feels like it, with temperatures dropping rapidly. Now snow....yet!

7280   GERMANY. R. Farda - Nauen. Farsi to Iran, f/in 0250

7310   FRANCE. Bible Voice - Issoudun. Arabic to ME to 0315.

7350   ROMANIA. RRI - Tiganesti. English to WNAm s/on 0300

7360   MADAGASCAR. Vatican R. - Talata Volonondry. Swahili to EAf s/on 0330

7395   MADAGASCAR. NHK - Talata Volonondry. Swahili to EAf s/on 0315

7405   USA. R. Marti - Greenville. Spanish s/on 0300, no jamming heard.

7425   RWANDA. DW - Kigali. Swahili to EAf s/on 0300

7435   GERMANY. RFE/RL - Biblis. Russian to EEu 0335 f/in 

7455   USA. WRMI - Okeechobee. Bad ute QRM here at this time.

7505.25   USA. WRNO - New Orleans. English at f/in 0320 with relaxed pop music.
