TOMORROW ONLY!! BBC WINTER SOLSTICE SPECIAL BROADCAST
BBC WINTER SOLSTICE SPECIAL BROADCAST
The annual BBC Winter Solstice Broadcast to the British Antarctic Survey team is occurring tomorrow, June 21 at 2130 to 2200 UTC. It's always such a lovely broadcast, the way shortwave radio used to be!! - a very personal approach to broadcasting. If you get the opportunity to check out this once-a-year transmission, do so!
The following frequencies will be operating:
7350 kHz via the Ascension transmitter, 250 kw, beaming 207 degrees
5875 kHz via the Woofferton transmitter, 250 kw, beaming 184 degrees
5985 kHz via the Dhabayya transmitter, 500 kw, beaming 203 degrees
A previously advertised frequency of 9890 via Woofferton appears to have been dropped from the schedule.
My thanks to Dan Ferguson from the Shortwave Broadcast Schedules Yahoo Group for this update.
Best of luck with it everyone! And if you hear the transmission in YOUR part of the world, reply to this post!
