THE MIGHTY STATION OF K3LR

THE MIGHTY STATION OF K3LR

You have to check out the astonishing amateur radio station owned and operated by Tim Duffy, K3LR. Even if you have absolutely no interest in ham radio, you can't help but admire this impressive station. Recently, Fred Lloyd, AA7BQ was lucky enough to visit the 11 acre property with its huge antennas and amazing "radio shack".......and this is no shack!! Here's the links to Fred's article on QRZ Forums:

After you have read the article, then take the drone flight over the antenna farm.

Also watch these two YouTube videos of the station in action. In the first video, Tim Duffy walks you around the antennas and the radio room:

The second video shows K3LR in action during a CW Contest.

Although the two videos were made seven years ago, it appears that the basic setup of K3LR has not changed a lot in that time. However, I suspect that much tweaking has been done to both equipment and antennas during the intervening years.

Finally, if you'd like to learn more about the technical specifications of the station, go to K3LR's own website at:

Thanks to Fred AA7BQ for sharing his visit to K3LR with the rest of the world!

73 and have a great weekend everyone.
