11530   USA. Overcomer Min - Okeechobee FL. American preaching 0719, fair signal with co-channel QRM CNR 1 jamming. // 11580 which was a better signal.

11625   VATICAN. Vatican R. - SM Galeria. English to WAf at 0640 with an African focused religious news program, very good signal.

11630   CHINA. CNR 17 - Lingshi. Kazakh service at 0725, good signal 0725.

11665   MALAYSIA. RTM Sarawak - Kajang. Usual FM music relay at 0727, fair signal.

11685   CHINA. CNR 11 - Baoji-Sifangshan. Tibetan service at 0733, weak signal.

11680   D.P.R.KOREA. KCBS - Kanggye. Martial music at 0728, time pips and ID 0730, fair to poor signal.

3320   SOUTH AFRICA.  R. Sonder Grense - Meyerton. News magazine style program in Afrikaans with musical interludes from 2136. Surprisingly strong signal, only station audible on the band at this time and still going past 2210 (8:10am here) on July 1.

3325   PAPUA NEW GUINEA. NBC - Bougainville. Fade in 0702 with music programming on the PL-680 whip, fair signal, July 2.

3365   PAPUA NEW GUINEA. NBC - Alotau. Fading in on just the PL-680 whip antenna at 0705 with a pop music program, July 2.

5810   USA. WEWN - Vandiver AL. S/on 1000 in Spanish, good signal July 1. Some resources don't list this as on at this time. Is this s/on something new???

6115   CHINA. Voice of the Strait - Gutian. Amoy service to EAs at 1005, weak signal July 1.

WHICH ANTENNA WIRE FOR SHORTWAVE LISTENING?

  WHICH ANTENNA WIRE  FOR SHORTWAVE LISTENING? I often see questions asked in Facebook groups and other forums regarding whether different types of antenna wire make any difference to the reception of shortwave signals at the receiver. For example, is copper wire better than aluminium, better than steel, etc? Another question often raised concerns the diameter of the wire used, i.e. would a thicker wire pick up more signal? I have to say that, in many informal tests of hanging different types of antennas over the years, I have found no measurable difference in the kind of wire used or in the diameter of the wire. There doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference in signal strength or quality of reception. My admittedly unscientific tests show no conclusive findings, so it is something that I just don't worry about. Any wire type or size will work for shortwave listening purposes.
