A few years back, I wrote a blog post about a reception report I spotted on the website of an international shortwave broadcaster. It was a pretty horrible report and illustrated everything that a shortwave listener should NOT do when hoping to receive a QSL card or letter. That post garnered a pretty big response from readers of this blog!

So, I decided to come up with a YouTube version for those people who maybe don't read this blog but who are subscribers to my humble little YouTube channel. Also, there is some slightly different material in the video compared to the original post. Anyway, if you missed the post, then check out the video below.

    Thank you! I try to use reception reports and QSL cards as a means to establish a friendly relationship with stations. Putting as many details about the program content and making cogent comments about their shows is something that goes a long way with stations.
    I think your comment about many stations discontinuing QSLs all together because of poorly written reception reports is spot on. I think that QSLs can be a good way to establish a friendly link with stations and making a good impression is important.

    Just a few of my very random thoughts.
