THE AMAZING PANASONIC DR-48 IN ACTION

THE AMAZING DR-48 RECEIVER IN ACTION

The short video below demonstrates how a radio from the mid-1970s still performs well. Although it is nearly 50 years old, the Panasonic DR-48 (also known as the RF-4800) still produces a good sound on the shortwave bands.

The recordings of these three shortwave broadcasters were made on January 1, 2025, between 0900 and 0930 UTC.

Thanks for watching!

73 and good DX to you!

  1. I had a DR-49 (very similar to DR-48) in the early 80's. I started with an FRG-7 in the late 70's and then the Panasonic. Such a great piece of kit back then.
